Does anyone have any more info about these campaigns and individuals?

Translation
Throughout the duration of the Cretan revolutions (1866- 1869) against the Turks, many Macedonians made their way to Crete as volunteers to help in the struggle of the Cretans. In the bloody battle of Vafe Chanion on the 12th of October 1866, amonst the dead was the Macedonian Anastasios Vafeiadis from Siatista. Further, many Macedonians fought as volunteers in Crete in 1826, 1844 against the Turks, as well as during other periods.
