Im sure you've read the Skopjian claim that the Romans did not consider the Macedonians to be Greeks and hence why at one point in time they named a specific province Macedonia.
This is of course selective in that it is not mentioned that at other points in time Macedonia was part of the province of 'Achea' (ie the Acheans, one of the original Greek tribes. Roman administrative province boundaries constantly varied and at various times Epirus was seperate (was Epirus not Greek?) as was Sparta and other parts of ancient Greece.
Therefore it is seen that this is sheer manipulation on the part of the Skopjian propagandists.
Other evidence confirming the Romans viewed the Macedonians as Greeks just as the Hebrews, Persians, Indians and indeed anyone else who Alexander and his army came into contact with referred to them as 'Yunan' (Greeks):
as shown on a map published in the December 1949 issue of the National Geographic Magazine, the Romans, who conquered Macedonia, considered it a Greek province. Indeed, in Roman times coins minted in Macedonia depicted ancient Macedonian symbols with Greek inscriptions

The Romans divided Macedonia in four provinces which were called MERIDES. The coins shown are of the first one. On the two faces appear certain traditional Macedonian subjects, such as Heracles' club and the Macedonian shield. In these coins as well as in other thousands of finds appear not only the language of the Macedonians (Greek), but also their descent (Heracles). Athens Numismatic Museum. (From Macedonia, 4,000 Years of Greek History and Culture, p. 194).
