Nearly one-fourth of all US House of Representatives have signed a high-profile Resolution urging the Macedonia to cease its use of propaganda - mostly irredentist -- and work with the United Nations and Greece to find a mutually acceptable solution for the long-standing "name issue" separating Athens and Skopje.

The US House Resolution also calls on Macedonia to respect and implement provisions of Article VII of the "interim agreement" of September 1995 agreed to by Athens and Skopje -- a landmark deal that normalised relations between the two Balkan neighbours in practically every sector, sans one, the thorny "name issue".

In pointing to provocations, the Resolution cites textbooks still used by the landlocked Macedonia's military academies and the recent renaming of Skopje's airport into "Alexander the Great" airport. Along these lines, the US House Resolution calls on the country's leadership to revise school textbooks and maps.

The Resolution was introduced last May by the co-chair and co-founder of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY); the chairman of the House Subcommittee on Europe, Robert Wexler (D-FL); the ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Europe Elton Gallegly (R-CA), and fellow co-chair of the Hellenic Caucus Gus Bilirakis (R-FL).

Only three other US House Resolutions - out of the 816 introduced during the current 110th Congress - have been signed by more that 100 members, namely, a Resolution on the genocide in Darfur; Japanese policy during WWII and one regarding the Armenian Genocide.

Kinda fucks Burns previous statements, we seem to get mixed messages from the USA.

Well one more thanks to Mr Kerim then.
He even managed to get the US congress realise the gravity of the situation. Such resolution will put plenty of pressure on US state department to support a fast and fair resolution based on a compound name and not plainly Macedonia.
Thanks again Mr Kerim!!!

Yes whatever you reckon, just because i questioned the crowd that makes
me a Skop, why dont you bag the people who said the crowd was 55-65,000, i think those people look alot more sillier than i do.

And yes, the crowd was between 15-25,000....

So we were both there and yr telling me you couldn't make out the difference b/w 15,000 and 25,000???If you calculate how the line spread into the 2 flanks and the line went all the way past the Metro that alone should be closer to 30,000.
