Thanks for the links. They helped alot in arguing in a forum over-run by a bunch Greek leftists who think the Turks are their koumparos.

From the Turkish MFA link which Draco posted:

Article 19 of the Greek Citizenship Code, reads as follows: "A person of non-Greek ethnic origin leaving Greece without the intention of returning may be declared as having lost Greek nationality". ...

Therefore, neither the status of heimatlos, nor the abrogation of Article 19 is a remedy for the suffering of the thousands of stateless minority members.

What idiots. In such a short article they cannot prevent themselves making a lie.

Turkey is not some innocent angelic country, if a member of the muslim or Turkish muslim minority wants to live in Turkey for say 10 years, I see no reason to allow them Greek citizienship. It is not above the Turkish state to organize campaigns to bus people in to meddle in Greek elections, if we do something stupid like allow them to live in Turkey with Greek citizienship as well.
