When you are a coach and use the same strikers, eventhough they both have 6 matches in a row to score a single goal, then you have to re-consider your whole philosophy in soccer.

Scoring has by far been the biggest issue. The guys can definately play possesion, but they have to create when they have the ball. Even when they are creative, they still don't seem to be scoring.

The Greek Soccer forum is an excellent place to find constructive analysis on the issue and some not so constructive comments. Overall, an excellent place for Greek soccer.

Hello everybody
First goal by Rivaldo was world class.. he surely is a magician. Having the ability to see the field and the team is something not all players do.
That's his role, a good pass or a great goal
gr8 player http://contra.gr/images/i_ribo.jpg
Stoltides played good soccer too, i guess Rehakles will call him in Ethniki .
edit: found Rivaldo's 2 goals

I saw it, very quick to get the shot off. Great player. Is he going to play for Brazil this summer?

Any reports of violence after the game?
There was an incident were a flare was thrown at a gathering among the referee and players.Idiot.
Excuse my ignorance but notwithstanding if Oly wins the championship will they be in Champions League next year due to their poor performance last year?

The winner of the Hellinic championship passes straight into the Champions legue groups.. Our second team has to play a preliminary match.. last year it was only one.. I think the same applies for the second team this year also, otherwise we'll be going back to the 90's when our second team had to play 2-3 preliminary matches...

Yeah, situtation is like Orphic Hymn says.
Around 2 years ago 3 teams qualified for Champion's League competition, the third was PAOK and had to pass through a preliminary phase.
Now, the Russian teams spend huge amounts of money and have gathered much points in the european cups ranking list. Late 2 years were disastrous for our clubs (in terms of point gathering)
for anyone interested:
UEFA country ranking (clubs) (http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method3/crank2005.html) -untill current season where nt05 stands with how many teams qualify for european cups (both ch.league and uefa cup)
A (chaotic) graph about point gathering (http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/plots.html)
Is he going to play for Brazil this summer?
He gave an interview about a month ago saying he craves to make a come back with his national team's squad. Don't know if they'll accept him though. He is gr8 but there are also good and younger players in Brazil's roster

Greek football needs the salary cap and draft system badly because it is falling in quality and becoming very boring...

like let's say.. the nba?
i think it would be nice. And it requires action from various areas, the state, football association, team owners etc.
However, not all teams are organised in perfect professional level. In fact, in A Ethniki, personally i can't name more than 6-7 teams really good organised (with stadiums complying with Uefa's criteria, good marketing, economic system and so on).
anyway, interesting proposition whatsoever.
seems the benefits from the conquest of euro ( :clapping: ) weren't taken advantage of

Any AEK Athens fan??
Great club. My brother is a huge fan. Demi has really turned that team around back to its former glory. As for the thugs, I'm glad he's not catering to those guys, what's the point?

I watched most of the first half. Olympiakos was all over them. Rivaldo was a joke with his dive. He made it look like he was nailed. I would have thrown his ass out of the game for it. He's been guilty of that in the past and it brings the game a bad name. Remember the dive he took in the last WC? Great talent though, I have to give him credit there, that is for sure. The dives a re alearned behaviour and that nonsense should stop in my opinion.

I think after the second half your opinion as about Ribo might have change

For the story
OLYMPIAKOS-AEK=3-0
2 goals by Ribo and one from Okkas:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: -

If Okkas scores with his head there is nothing more to add for the defence of AEK.

No doubt Rivaldo is a talent my friend, but that excessive diving has to stop. At least a yellow for it. If you mention it here that he had a great second half, then I have no doubt he did. Thanks.

How should a team will be able to score against Olympiakos with these referees/linesmen? I am watching the game against Atromitos and they have cancelled as offside an obvious goal.
The star of the game is the Brazilian guy of Atromitos :worshippy

The same lyrics from Greek soccer fans you mean, who are tired of the same bullshit with the referees. Unless you claim that it wasnt a clear goal the one of Atromitos.
