Cretans

Zefs deserves credit for this find. This its the story of the heroic battle the Cretans gave the Germans in World War 2. As for the Cretans and their character, another example of Greek grit. I'm certain there are other untold stories of many Greeks from many wars. I truly hope our filmakers start telling the stories. This is a start,( as is Eleni, etc...)

It seems the movie is going to be GREAT. I just ordered it and can't wait to get it in May. It appears that the sound track is quite nice also. It is about time movies about the Greek resistance to the Germans are finally going to be made. After all GREECE WAS THE ONLY MAINLAND EUROPEAN COUNTRY FIGHTING WITH THE ALLIES THAT HAD A FIGHTING ARMY AND NAVY THROUGHOUT WWII! Most people don't realize that one fact. I just wish my Pappou could be alive to see it. He was a member of the resistance in Athens. The poor man even had his Packard convertable stolen by a German officer and he never saw it again. It was hard to hide such a car considering my grandparents had the bad fortune of living across the street from the Nazi headquarters on Leoforos Siyyrou. I wish I could track down that car. Of course it was probably melted down for scrap metal a long time ago.

Our contribution to that war has gone widely unnoticed around the globe. Very unfortunate. At least Churchill acknowledged it.

As for the car dude. You might be right about it being scrap, but if you have the time, check out the records in Greece to see how many of these cars are still registered around there. I bet that is a major pain to do though.
