Today i thought that through the course of centuries man, despite all the changes in his exterior environment, is constantly being tormented by the same old psychic factors which not only have been increased in tension in our age but also dangerously multiplied.
We constantly feel anxiety depression and stress from the consant negative vibrations we give of. Ones distress is distress for another.
Reading Greek philosophy has seriously enlightened me. Perhaps not to the point where i can use the force to move objects around me (joke), but certainly how to move my emotions.
I havent as many had a simple life, my main fault is my tempre and my ability to control it. Reading my ancestors works as typical and cliche as it may me has seriously helped me realise that a person can eriously concentarte just to much on himself, and by this i dont mean in a selfish m,anner, but rather put to much burden which he cant carry.
The spiritual side of the human race is quickly fading as we fast move deeper into the Technological era( Iron Age).
Rapid technological development and almost exclusively focused on heavy matter, man has completely forgotten everything that concerns his spiritual evolution and -due to this- cannot understand the cause of his misfortune. The majority of people today are being cut off from any spiritual evolution abruptly and in a very young age. The body grows but the soul doesn’t, mainly because of the way of life that has prevailed and conflicts with the spiritual essence of man.
As the people that we are(Hellenes) we are a sentimental bunch. Always putting things ahead of ourselves and many times others aswell. It is who we are. But this can be damaging to the psyche.
This is where i would like to talk about Euthymia.
Euthymie is a homeric word that means good temper, good heart and great courage. Democritus was the first one to write about euthymy and gave a more specific meaning to the word explaining it as the state of being in which the soul is freed from all desire and unified with all its parts.
Democritus believed that euthymy should be the final goal of everything we do in life. He also used same synonymous to the word such as stability (euesto), peace, harmony, symmetry, calmness. These are all higher states of being for the soul that came from its atom’s harmonic movements and are accompanied by emotions of joy, deep satisfaction and trust.
What fascinatd me about Democritus is that he was the one to actualy discovered the Atom.God knows how he knew it was spherical, but, to the Greeks, a Sphere was the most complete Geometric shape.
He stated that matter is made up of various elements, Atoma he called them.And he combined these atoma with the belief that the soul too is made up of these Atoma.
Anyways, it seems theres a need for the world, not just the Greeks to return to this state of mind.
Philosophy is what gave birth to all that we have today, everything.
I just wish i could see the great minds we had rise again and take us out of this loop hole. I have a strange feeling, that we, once again must lead others to the golden age.
Let your mind grasp about what Democritus once said:
"In some worlds there is no Sun and Moon while in others they are larger than in our world and in others more numerous. In some parts there are more worlds, in others fewer,in some parts they are arising(being created), in others failing(dying stars). There are some worlds devoid of living creatures or plants or any moisture."
As amazing and accurate as this statement is, we can all unlock this sort of brain power which our fathers called LOGIC.Today , it seems we use very little of it.
Wisdom frees the soul from passions, passions that only suit us as individuals. Passions of man made materials. Balance is the key.
