Greek houses like Asmali Konak-Mustafpasa-Cavusin are all over in Kappadokia, Pontos,Ionia, Constantinople.

One from the Turkish responce as about the house owners was...

They are Karamans who are greek orthodox Turks. :) But they are considered as rums just like all greek orthodox people of Turkey.  They hate being called greek because I have a karaman and many rum friends.:)

When I was in Izmir, I asked at the tourist office where I could see some old Greek houses and they pointed me to the Konaks there.

As for this:

They are Karamans who are greek orthodox Turks. But they are considered as rums just like all greek orthodox people of Turkey. They hate being called greek because I have a karaman and many rum friends.

Many Muslims of Pontus who speak "rum" or "romaika" dont even know that they are speaking Greek, such is the extent of the Turkish violent assimilation policies.
