There is a new Skop propaganda union at my uni, I was reading a pamphlet thing of theirs; they claim that half their country is usurped by us & that the "macedonian" minority in Macedonia are subject to threats, violence and death threats on a daily basis. They even have a picture of some skops standing on the Greek flag.

This group is called the UMSA, Union of "Macedonian" Students of Adelaide.
They're being funded by a Bakery obviously Skop-owned and the Skop Orthodox Community.


I'm going to write a letter to the administrators of unions insisting this group be barred from existence, the notion that WE are living on their land is bullshit. :wacko:

That is a disgrace! We Greeks in Australia have to put up with more of that bullsh*t than anywhere else. We have to stop it. It's hate-fuelled bullsh*t!

Freedom of speech is one thing but when it's outright lies and just an attempt to make people look bad (when they actually don't deserve it), it has to be stopped!

UPDATE: I've arranged a meeting next week with the Administrator of the Unions.

I'm going to prepare some historical reasons as to why the Skop Union must be barred; first explaining why they're not Macedonian and why there name is offensive to me and other Greeks.
Then I will argue due to ethical reasons; chiefly the Hostility and Propaganda aimed at Greeks.

If you want to appeal to a neutral party the main thing you should mention is that these people are advocating violent irredentism against sovereign nations (Greece Bulgaria and Albania) and most importantly ethnic cleansing! ie the common Skopjian slogan "Greeks, Bulgarians and Serbs get out: Macedonia for the Macedonians!" They are in effect advocating the violent displacement of 2 million Greeks. Mention the actions towards the Greek flag.

You will have a hard time arguing that they shouldnt be allowed to be called Macedonians when even the Australian government refers to the language in its publications (doesnt recognise the state of FYROM's name officially though). You will also struggle to convince neutral parties with ethnic evidence if they have no prior knowledge.

This (AMONG ALL THE OTHERS) is an outrageous LIE they say to deceit the naive , using arguments covered with some kind of a human rights cloak, towards which (the human rights) everyone is sensible !!!
Greece is a paradise (unfortunately, under a different point of view ie increased criminality etc ) for strangers, to use an extreme example talking of non Greeks. Just consider all the albanians , bulgarians etc that come -many times illegally- to search for a work and a better life. Would all those persons, that live in the Greek neighbourhood come, if they knew a ""minority"" was ""subject to threats, violence and death threats on a daily basis"" ?!? This is so ridiculous! An imaginary minority that would not be constituted in any case by strangers but of Greek citizens! They are so pathetic. Those who say such things suffer definately by some kind of psychosomatic illness. No other explanation!

This UMSA skop-group has now been closed down because of the hate propaganda against Greeks in their pamphlets. Took a 1hr meeting with me and then he met with the skop students and after so long, finally a decision in our favour! The guys who started it are not allowed to start another Group at the University again.:laugh: On the downside, anyone else can startup UMSA again, except they can't have any anti-Greek propaganda. I'm tempted to bring back UMSA, but not take any members. :p

axx, If only we could remove all the fanatics from power so easily.

I managed to get hold of a pamphlet of theirs, I found it in the paper recycling bin in one of the computer rooms. Funny in itself it was in a bin :laugh: Check out there stupid claims and also the fact they forgot to put in a time when they meet :p

What would be even better is to organise a new Macedonian society, exclusively Hellenic in character and professionaly run without the propaganda garbage. That would hit the Skops where it hurts them most and that will show the rest of the population there the Greeks don't need to resort to that stuff to show that macedonia is and integral part of our history.
