I am starting this thread for those of us who are from Mani!

I will start by saying that my family is from Mesa Mani in the Itilou district.
The ancestral villages are Koita and Kounos which are located in the southern part of the peninsula.

Hey man that's my last name!

Great-grandfather was from Gytheon.His last name was Vlahakos but when he moved to Nafplion everyone referred to him as "O Maniatis" so that's what he changed his name to.

If this go well I'll be in Greece this summer and visit the place.Especially those 2-3 story towers.
