Γειά σας παιδιά,

Ήθελα να σας προσκαλέσω στο http://www.facebook.com και στο γκρούπ Macedonia (Μακεδονία) is Greek. Το http://www.facebook.com είναι ενα κοινωνικό δίκτυο με εκατομμύρια μέλη, και μέχρι στιγμής το γκρούπ έχει 2240 μέλη.

Παρακολουθώ το φόρουμ καιρό τώρα, έχουμε βάλει το λινκ στην κεντρική σελίδα, και σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις αναπαραγάγονται πληροφορίες. Πιστεύω οτι με τις γνώσεις σας θα είχατε σημαντική, καθοριστική συμμετοχή στην σωστή πληροφόρηση των μελών, που στήν πλειοψηφία τους είναι Ελληνοαμερικάνοι. Εφόσον έχουμε προσελκύση την Ελληνοαμερικανική κοινότητα του δικτύου, το επόμενο βήμα είναι το "άνοιγμα" προς ξένα μέλη. Υπάρχουν και Σκοπιανά γκρούπ που χρειάζονται την κατάλληλη... αντιμετώπιση.

Όπως θα δείτε στην παρακάτω ανακοίνωση, ο σκοπός είναι η σωστή, αντικειμενική ενημέρωση, με σεβασμό στο διάλογο. Η πληροφόρηση μέσω κοινωνικών δικτύων όπως το http://www.facebook.com δεν είναι μόνο καινότομη, αλλά άκρως αποτελεσματική.

Ελπίζω να τα πούμε και μέσω αυτού του δικτύου σύντομα.

The purpose of this group is to inform those who are interested of the Greek position on the Skopje (FYROM) naming issue, but more importantly, to preserve historical accuracy and the historical integrity of Greece.

In light of the Greek government’s failure to maintain the Greek identity of Macedonia, especially in the United States, there is a need to have accurate discussion on the contentions of Skopje regarding Greek history. These contentions must be examined individually, because there is a massive amount of misinformation available. Accordingly, there is a need to establish what rights Skopje has to the name Macedonia in defining a state.

Keep in mind the importance of the situation for peace and stability in the Balkans. While Greece has no territorial claims on Skopje, you can find various maps of Thessaloniki annexed to Skopje online. Unfortunately, these claims are not extremist propaganda but aspired by a significant portion of the population. Slavic peoples arrived in the Balkans in the 6th century AD. 90% of ancient Macedonia is outside Skopje's border, and the vast majority coincides with the homonymous Greek region. Skopje is clearly a geographically and demographically Slavic region.

Due to the misrepresentation of Greek history, it is our responsibility to react, and a predisposition to a convincing reaction is knowledge. Macedonia is a Greek region with a Greek identity, and there is ample evidence to prove this. Greece is not willing to recognize a non-Greek nation by the same name as an ancient Greek people.

We encourage you to research this issue and examine it carefully, as it is comprised of difficulties that require examination of primary sources, in the proper context, to resolve. Keep in mind that different individuals receive different information, and have opinions that they are entitled to. At all times, maintain respect and proper discourse, and make sure you understand that to third parties, if you are Greek, your comments are interpreted as the Greek position.

As administrators, we are not flawless and are glad to receive your recommendations, and see you contribute to discussion. In the interest of unrestricted dialogue, there will be no advertising in the group without administrator consent. Also, please do not post in this topic as it is designated for announcements only.

Σύντομα θα αλλάξουμε προφίλ ώστε η κατάσταση να είναι ξεκάθαρη και στούς ξένους χρήστες. Θα ανοίξουμε το γκρούπ ώστε οποιοσδήποτε να μπορεί να γίνει μέλος (χωρίς επιβεβαίωση) και να φαίνονται τα τόπικ σε όλους. Θα υπάρχουνε σαφείς κανόνες ώστε ο διάλογος να μην ξεφεύγει απο την ουσία, επειδή αναμένονται Σκοπιανοί. Παρακαλώ μην ντραπείτε να συμβάλλετε στις συζητήσεις και να κάνετε παρεμβάσεις σε όποια λάθος πληροφόρηση. Απλά κρατήστε στα υπόψη οτι οι περισσότεροι δε ξέρουν Ελληνικά και οτι αν μπείτε σε Σκοπιανά γκρούπ οι admins μπορούνε να διαγράψουν τα μέλη. Ελπιζώ να ανεβεί και η συμμετοχή στο φόρουμ όσο αυξάνονται τα μέλη του γκρούπ.

Λοιπόν παιδιά το γκρούπ έχει φτάσει τα 2,460 μελη και χθές το ανοίξαμε ώστε να μη χρειάζεται confirmation κάποιος για να γίνει μέλος. Ελπίζω να μας τιμήσουν με την παρουσία τους πολλοί Σκοπιανοί.
