As you know the Skopjans worldwide contribute several articles of Professor Andrew Rossos. These articles focus in the period of 1941-1949.I have observe many mistakes to his articlee, and I will try to explain step by step what Mr Rossos forget.

Before I start I want the help of the Greek-Canadians.What they know for him.Is a Greek or another one crypto-Skopjan that use a Greek name in order to spread his articles.

I will start with the known article ....British Officer Report 1944.In this article Rossos try to explain the Evans Report. There is a section that named(copy from Evans report title only), as.......

4. BULGAR INFLUENCE AMONG THE MACEDONIANS

This has been considerable during the past three years. The BULGARS maintained propaganda offices in FLORINA, KASTORIA and I believe, VASSILEIAS [ZAGORICANI] 5944. The most active propagandists were GELEFF and the more notorious KALTCHEF (GREEK born, educated in BULGARIA and a fanatic). Arms were supplied for a number of villages by the GERMANS and ITALIANS, whose purpose was to weaken guerilla resistance by dividing the population and also to create a deep protective ring round [KASTORIA and a string of garrisons along the road] KASTORIA - AMYNTAION. This effected a considerable economy in troops. Most armed villages seemed to have contained a few fanatics and a large number of indifferent people who would have much rather not taken sides against anybody. Some villages, e.g. ASPROYIA [SREBRENO] 6350, were forced by brutal methods to take arms. Probably the most pro-BULGAR village was VASSILEIAS, which contains a small number of GREEK refugee families but is mostly SLAV. Several families there have relatives who emigrated to BULGARIA and made good, one even becoming a General in the BULGARIAN Army. As far back as 1938, the inhabitants used to boast of their village as 'Little Sofia'.

Besides arming villages the BULGARS also tried to get people to have themselves registered as BULGARIAN citizens. An old man in TRIVOUNON [TRSJE] 5065 told me that only six families there, besides his own, insisted in remaining GREEK. [43]

MACEDONIANS as a whole do not seem to be really attracted to BULGARIA, and some were actually afraid that she would have treated them as an inferior minority, as the SERBS and GREEKS already do. If the area i am acquainted with had been genuinely pro-BULGAR, all the villages in it would probably be armed, whereas the only ones that did take arms were those situated on the low ground on the fringes of the VITSI mountain pass. The mountain area proper was always free of armed villages, though not of informers who would betray Andartes and British personnel to the GERMANS. Those of the inhabitants who were not pro-GREEK - that is to say, the majority - were either uneasily neutral or else filled with a rather vague aspiration towards a free MACEDONIA run on Left Wing lines. Thus, when in May the Andartes of VAPSORI sent a long-winded letter to SIDHEROKHORI [SESTEOVO] telling them to come over to ELAS and the Allies, SIDHEROKHORI replied: 'If you (ELAS) were real Allies you would wear a Red Star on your caps'.

[43] Bulgarian policies and the activities of Bulgarian supported bands in Aegean Macedonia during the Second World War have not been adequately investigated.

I will start in this that the whole Greek and foreighn historiogrpahy know but Andrew Rossos forget to mention.

Akronauplia Case!!!

Akronauplia was a known jail with Metaxas anti-dictarship prisoners. A lot of them was Communists and among of them were Slavmacedonians.

Naturally, most Slavmacedonians who had been deported by the Greek authorities were only too glad to declare their Bulgarian nationality in order to return home. Some communists maintained, for the same reason, that they had been deported or imprisoned because they were Bulgars.

Even more ominous for the troubles to come, twenty-seven high-ranking conmunistc adres were released by the Germans in June 1941 from the Akronauplia prison camp, where they were under detention by the Greek authorities, they owed their release to the intervention of the Bulgarian embassy in Athens.

They too declared Bulgarian nationality, although a few like Andrcas Tzimas or Samariniotis who later played a key role in political developments, were not Slav Macedonian.

Most of them came from the districts of Kastoria and Florina, and included some of the protagonists in the events to be described below:

-Lazaros Adamopoulos or Danios of Oinoi (Kastoria)
-Lazaros Zisiadis or Trpovski of Dendrochori (Kastoria)
-Zisis Kallimanis of Kalochori (Kastoria)
-Theodoros Euthynuadis of Kastoria
-Anastasios Karatzas of Dendrochori
-Zisis Delios or Batzios of Kalochori
-Kyriakos Pylnis of Xynon Neron (Flonna)
-Lanipros Moschos ofDendrochori
-Lampros Roukas of Ieropig (Kastoria)
-Dianlantis Tsistinas or Dalis of Kastoria
Andreas Tsipas of Agios Pannteleimon (Florina) and
-Lazaros Bozinis of Aposkepos (Kastoria)

...........to name the most prominent

The number of those who declared Bulgarian nationality in the region for these and other reasons is not known. It seems that maany more Slamacedonians did so in order to secure food rations in the winter of 1941 -2, during the worst fanline experienced by the country in modern tirnes. The Bulgarian Club of Thessaloniki pursued a systematic policy of literally buying such declarations from the famished population of northern Greece, and in exchange for signing it Slav Macedonians received, along with a Bulgarian identity card, bread or flour as well as scarce items such as sugar and soap.

By 1944 declarations of Uulgarian nationality for the expected betiefits were estimated by the Greek authorities, on the basis of montthly returns, to have reached 16,000 in the districts of Germnan-occupie Greek Macedonia.

Unfortunely I dont have Evans Report.According the article clearly you can see the diffrence between Evans and Rossos by the letter formation.

I dont know if that was a rhetorical question akrita but Roussos is definatley a well known Skopjian/ communist despite the Greek name

Just to clear what was the origin of a person that use Greek name in his articles. As Pavle Filipov quoted...Metaxas forced him to change his name!!!!!

However, none has been more neglected and more misunderstood in the West than the Macedonian national question in all three parts of divided Macedonia: Vardar Macedonia in Yugoslavia, Pirin Macedonia in Bulgaria, and above all Aegean Macedonia in Greece.

Where are the origin of these terms? The Skopjan Professor forget to mention this that the whole world knows!!!
Most of the Slavophone inhabitants in all parts of divided Macedonia (according Rossos claims) perhaps a million and a half in all - felt themselves to be Bulgarians at the beginning of the Occupation; and most Bulgarians, whether they supported the Communists, IMRO, or the collaborating government, assumed that all Macedonia would fall to Bulgaria after the war. Tito was determined that this should not happen. The first Congress of AVNOJ in November 1942 had paranteed equal rights to all the 'peoples of Yugoslavia', and specified the Macedonians among them. By inplication, the guarantee could be extended to Pirin (Bulgarian) Macedonia and Aegean (Greek) Macedonia. The Communist Party of Macedonia, which had passed through a troubled time, first under a pro-Bulgarian leadership and then under pro-Yugoslav Macedonians, was taken in hand early in 1943 by Tempo, who formed a new Central Committee and informed it that it was now an integral part of the Yugoslav CP.

Rossos forget to mentioned that in his article.

The Treaty of Neuilly with Bulgaria provided for the so-called voluntary exchange of Greek and Bulgarian minorities. According to the best available estimates, 86,582 Macedonians were compelled to emigrate to Bulgaria in the years from 1913 to 1928.

Rossos trasnform the Bulgarians to Macedonians!!He started with the Bulgarian minority in Macedonia and suddenly the Skopjan Professor "discover again" the ethnic Macedonians".
Thus, as a result of the removal of 127,384 Macedonians and the conscious and planned settlement of 618,199 refugees, the Greek government transformed the ethnographic structure of Aegean Macedonia in the period between 1913 and 1928.
What supposed to do with those Greeks dear Rossos? These Greeks(and other Christians as you said) were war refugees. Will be satisfied your propaganda if these Greeks settled to Thessaly,Middle Greece and Pelopponessus in order to not interrupt your political persepective ?

The Truman Doctrine, the American intervention, and the final defeat of the Communist side in that bloody conflict in 1949, also represented a crushing blow for the national aspirations of the Macedonians in Aegean, that is, Greek Macedonia.

Here Rossos forget to mention theirs nation doctrine. TITO Doctrine
How did that? with your ethogenesis
First helped you with the arms and political support.
They tried to built a Balkan Federation with Macedonia State on it and Thessaloniki capital. And lost his battle!!!!
Second founded a language.
The new nation needed a written language, and initially the spoken dialect of northern Macedonia was chosen as the basis for the new Slavonic Macedonian language.
The alphabet was accepted on 3 May 1945 and the orthography on 7 June 1945, and the first primer in the new language appeared by 1946, in which year a Macedonian Department in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Skopje was also founded.
Thirdly founded a Religion.
Religion was another important tool for the new authorities, and the freeing of the Orthodox Church in Yugoslav Macedonia from Serbian control, with the establishment of the autocephalous Macedonian Orthodox Church and the revival of the ancient archdiocese of Ohrid in 1958, was an important step along the path to nationhood-a rare incidence of co-operation between an atheist state and organised religion.
Finally he Reconstruct your history.
Great of this example is you.Your false interpretation in your article and the usage of a Greek name is the perfect example.

Svetozar Vukmanovic-Tempo,Tito's close collaborator and a member of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, in his book "Borba za Balkania",Zagreb,1981 , reveales the order he received on October 1943 from Tito:

Αποστολη σας στη Μακεδονια ειναι να δημιουργησετε οσο το δυνατο πιο στενες σχεσεις με τη Βουλγαρια και την Ελλαδα,ωστε μη μας προλαβουν τα γεγονοτα και καποιος αλλος αναλαβει την πρωτοβουλια στα χερια του,πραγμα που δεν θα ηταν προς το συμφερον ουτε του βουλγαρικου Λαου ουτε του δικου μας.

Υour mission in Macedonia is tο create as straight relations as possible with Bulgaria and Greece,so that events do not anticipate us and some other undertakes the initiative in his hands, thing that would not be in the interest of neither the Bulgarian People nor ours.

1.By the summer of 1943,the presence of Western Powers was already evident in and around the balkan region ,so it was neccessary for Tito to set all communist guerilla forces of the region (Yugoslavians,Bulgarians,Albanians,Greeks) under his command with the purpose to secure himself and his projects from the western, since they would be occupied in non yugoslavian territories.

2.In the order, one should note the absence of referencies regarding the interests of the Greek People. The Bulgarian and the Yugoslavian (=South Slavs) People are cited but not the Greek, revealing the intentions of the comunist leader.

Tempo analyzing more the order adds in his book:

Επρεπε να πραγματοποιησουμε οσο το δυνατο πιο στενη συνεργασια και με τους Ελληνες και με τους Βουλγαρους για να εμποδισουνε τις αντιδραστηκες δυναμεις να αναλαβουν την εξουσια σ' αυτες τις χωρες.Με τους Αλβανους ειχαμε ηδη αποκτησει παρα πολυ στενη συνεργασια.

We had to achieve the straighter possible collaboration with the Greeks and with the Bulgarians in order to prevent reactionary forces from undertaking the power in these countries. With the Albanians we already had acquired a very straight collaboration.

Tempo proposed the institution of a Common Balkan Headquarters where yugoslavian, albanian, bulgarian and greek communist guerrillas would operate according to Tempo's and substantially to Tito's orders. The proposal was rejected from the Bulgarian and the Greek communist parties and albanians did not join the Common Balkan Headquarters too. However greek and albanian communists agreed to militarily cooperate with the yugoslavians in the regions which interested Tito,Macedonia and Kossovo. The agreement is reported by Tempo in his book.
Following this agreement -in accordance with Greek guerrillas- Yugoslavian guerrillas entered Macedonia wearing the Red Star Rossos is talking about. So the answer of SIDHEROKHORI seems rather confusing:
the Andartes of VAPSORI sent a long-winded letter to SIDHEROKHORI [SESTEOVO] telling them to come over to ELAS and the Allies, SIDHEROKHORI replied: 'If you (ELAS) were real Allies you would wear a Red Star on your caps'.
1.ELAS did not consider the British as allies for sure.
2.If the people of SIDHEROKHORI were among those who "would have much rather not taken sides against anybody" ,that is the fraudulent "macedonians" as Rossos implies ,why were they expecting guerrillas with the Red Star, which were the Yugoslavian guerrillas?
3.This reasoning is similar to the well known theories of fyromian propaganda presenting fraudulent "macedonians" neutral to various conflicts in History (see ottoman period too) victims of the historically proven existent Greek and Bulgarian nations.

When by June 1944 the world situation is changed, since Germany has lost the war and the Russians are in the door of the Balkans, all "guilty" Axis allies (bulgarians) find salvation in Tito's theories over Macedonia, who grants them forgiveness with the condition they declare themselves as "Macedonians".
In the meanwhile Tempo continues his operations in Florina-Kastoria region provoking the reaction of the Macedonians and the reaction of ELAS as well.In a report, the 28th ELAS constitution gives the following information:

On 17.4.44 1200 Partisans coming from Karatzova reached to Vapsori and Koryfi. In the feast organised from their 2nd Constitution (SNOF/ELAS) in Vapsori the speaker asked among other things from the Slavomacedonian population to participate in its ranks... the Partisans criticized them (the Greeks) because they were not wearing the red star (sign of Tito) and did not bring the red macedonian flag.
These preachings which were propagated among the population of the villages had created real uproar.Uneasy we asked a meeting with the politician of the 2nd Constitution (of ELAS/SNOF) Naoumof to who we lamented... He responded to us that for the conscription of the Slavomacedonians from our regions there was a decision from above.

That was an interesting read. Just a question out of curiosity, if 600,000
Pontians were settled in Macedonia then how many Turks were removed from Macedonia, secondly what was the total population of Macedonia at that time?

Thanks Voulgaroktonos

So 384,000 Turks were replaced by 600,000 pontians/others in Macedonia, a gains of the population of Macedonia of some 200,000+ people..

Seems pretty fair to me, where else were the Greeks going to go.

600.000 out of 1.5 million in a large area of your country is a logical thing, especially since the MAJORITY of Turks leaving where from... Macedonia. Logically the homes of those 350,000 Turks who left where filled by Greeks who came over, and then some.

Still some 900,000 people were placed in other parts of the country, mainly Athens and some other big cities around the country. People went wherever they could.

Skopjan propagandist Andrew Rossos(one more propagndist that use Greek name) as is obvious he likes to search British documents that mention the supposing "Macedonian" identity in the first half of 20th century and specially in the Greek Macedonia. During the inter-war years, the region - forming 'Southern Serbia' and, after 1929, part of the Vnrdorska Banovina-was treated by Belgrade as part of Serbia and its Slav population as Serb. Yet the national allegiances of the region's 600-700,000 Slavs remained far from clear Lets see what the British quoted as abouts Slavs in the Bardar region in 1941.

A British study group succintly put it in the aftermath of Yugoslavia's occupation by the Axis powers:

'the Morava valley and much of Macedonia (i.e. pre-war Vardarska Banovinn) in particular were inhabited by Slavonic populations of an intermediate ethnic character, which could become specifically Bulgarian or non-Bulgarian according to whether they were incorporated in a Bulgarian or non-Bulgarian state.
[PRO, FO 371133128, R1650/1650/7, 'Bulgarian Irredentism', study by Foreign Research and Press Service, Balliol, Oxford, 4 Dec. 1941.]

The Bulgarian occupation, which followed the Nazi invasion in April 1941, helped demonstrate that neither the communist position for a separate 'Macedonian nation' nor the idea of a Yugoslav Federation had had any serious effect among the Slav population at large. In fact, the Bulgarian troops were greeted as 'liberators' and pro-Bulgarian feeling seemed to prevail during the early stage of the occupation.

Who confirm the above quote?

a British document of course

It is generally admitted that the entry of Bulgarian troops into Macedonia was welcomed by the mass of the population as a prelude to national liberation. ..

Disillusionment soon followed, as it became clear that Bulgaria cared as little as the Serbs for the national aspirations of the Macedonians. ...

But the false hopes with which the Macedonians had started continued to colour their outlook for some time to come, and rendered the growth of the partisan movement there of peculiar difficulty. Macedonia, it was felt, had already been 'liberated' by the Bulgarians; how then, could the insurrectionary movement sweeping over Serbia bring national liberation to them?

If the Macedonians grew discontented under Bulgarian rule, they sought to better their lot by a struggle for social, not national, resurgence. The first Macedonian insurgents formed themselves into units which they called National Detachments, not National Liberation Detachments, as elsewhere in Yugoslavia. They formed their committees, too, but these were National Committees, not National Liberation Committees.

When they chalked up their slogans on the walls of the houses in Skoplje and Bitolj, one would see not the customary 'Death to the Invader', but more often 'Down with the Filov Government'.

[PRO, FO 371 /48183, R 8570/11/67, Stevenson to Eden, no. 74]

Two british documents that not written from a captain (Evans is known what was the opinion of him from the supervisors as about the strange relathionships with the automomistic NOF) but reports that had as final receiver the British Ministry of Defence.
Of course today the British policy is tottaly diffrent regarding the Macedonian issue.Cyprus is the cause!!!!

Why Andrew Rossos forget this Evans quote as about.....Slavonic Macedonists identities during the Greek Civil War ?

""In the summer of 1944, members of the Macedonian Bureau of the KKE were unable to distinguish friend from foe in Slav Macedonian villages. Regional committee secretaries had' discovered', according to a report of 15 August 1944, that 'IN SLAV MACEDONIAN VILLAGES THERE ARE BRANCHES OF OKHRANA, TO WHICH MOST SLAV MACEDONIANS BELONG; WHICH MEANS THAT THERE ARE OKHRANA AGENTS WITHIN OUR PARTY COMMITTEES.

This explains why the effort to neutralize Okhrana [influence] has produced no result.

Mass involvement of the population in Slav Macedonian Villages is one of the tactics of Okhrana, which thus aims to provide good cover for its activities. No regional committee or comrade is in a position to say who is giving information on our work. It is a mystery...""
