Preston, it's an honour to "meet" you. I've been in Florina some times and especially in the Psarades village (Prespa) in the borders between Greece, Albanian and FYROM. I remember that the people there were speaking the language. I guess you're the biggest threat FYROM knows. To wipe you out from the map of Hellenes is one of their main purposes.

What gets me is for as long as I can remember their main argument against the fact that the ancient Macedonians left us Greek on all of their artifacts is that language does not equal ethnicity. On the other hand every Slavophone speaker in Greece must be an 'ethnic Macedonian' because of the language (s)he speaks. If the Slavophone does not recognize this then they assert that they must be a traitor and they must have forgotten their true identity. Hence on one hand when it suits their agenda, in the case of the ancient Macs, they tell us that language cannot be used as an indicator of ethnicity while at the same time argue that a Slavophone must be an 'ethnic Macedonian' because language must equal ethnicity. A laughable contradiction.

How can these people be traitors to an ethnicity or identity that they or their ancestors never affiliated with to begin with?

Xiotis go and read the book of koliopoulos.You will find amazing thinks regarding the connection and the relathionships between the Slavphones.I am speaking for the Greek edition(two volumes) and awarded from Athens academy.Cousin against cousin.Slavphone individuals enjoyed as Oxranites then bacame SNOFits(Greek communist) and finally NOFits(Yugoslavian Communist).
And all of these against Slavphones that said "we are Greeks".

i was reading an article where there are narrated the methods that the yugoslavs used,in the frame of the people's republic of Skopjie,so as to introduce the slavophone refuges arriving there from greece after the civil war,in the "macedonism" theories.In the same way as in the post Akritas sent,the NOF members gave promises for work or land to coltivate to the refuges and also issued directives like the one to send letters of gratefulness to Tito.
According to the author this took place with the establishment on 1950 of the "Union of refuges" which had as primary aim the "cultural" and social integration of the refuges in the "People's Republic of Macedonia"(PRM).The voice of this union was a monthly newspaper published from September 1950 to May 1954,with various NOF members as directors.An interesting osservation is the one refering to the fact that the yugoslavian authorities-always in the frame of the "PRM"-put it clear from the begining that they had to do with the refuges' settlement as if it would have been permanent.On the other hand characteristic is the fact that until 1952 a small number of refuges had accepted to become citizens of the "PRM" coming in communion with what this last one represented,from the time that they did not have Goce's (for example) ethnic or national "consciousness" when they were leaving Greece.
