Base asumption is incorect. We are not Slavs. We are Ancient Macedonians mixed with small nimber of Slavs. So it is very stupid to search for tribe called - Macedonians. However, it is a historical fact that when Slavs came to Balkans they formed a temporary kingdom whit the ancient people of Balkans (Macedonians) and choose a king. The kings name was REX HACON (Hadson), and the kingdom's name was Macedonian Sclavine (meaning "where macedonians and s(c)lavs live"). Unfotunately, bysantium killed Hacon even before he receive the crown from the Pope. Later Bulgarians came, and both Macedonians and Slavs, together whit the Bugarian hordes started attacking the Bysantian kingdom. Then, because of a simple reason that bulgarians were more recognisable (they were of yellow race - mongols), all these people received a common name - Bulgarians. As delicate example is Macedonian uprising in Ohrid in late X centry - not against bysantium - but against (real) bulgarians. So as I say, history is a bit more complex

Oh yeah, you sure do. What is labeled as Albania and Macedonia was actually called Ottoman Empire.
