I'm reading a book about the recently discovered city of Kalindoia.
The interresting part is that Kalindoia has mixed population...When I say mixed I mean Macedonians, Thracians and Anatolians (probably Carians). The first group are the locals while the Thracians and Anatolians are called "Metoikoi".
The Metoikoi can be distinguised clearly by their names today. While the locals have Greek names, the Metoikoi have Thracian names like Diza and Kotys or Anatolian ones like Kereventhis.
The locals until the 1rst cent BC still use an archaic form of Greek

to a certain extend, alongside with Koine.
I also found some inscription of a Metoikos called Beithis who couldn't spell his name correctly.
To summarize this, it is interresting how you have the Greeks and the others separated in this city. This could put an end to certain claims about Thracian Macedonians etc etc.
I'm gonna finish the book and publish my notes...
